My mom had a boyfriend in 8th grade named Mike. Mike was friends with my Dad. My dad spent the first two and half years of High school at Nolan in Fort Worth. He transferred to the high school that my mom was at half way through sophomore year. Mom says that Mike called her out of the blue one day and they got to talking and she told him that his friend Buzz Coady was in her homeroom class. Mike asked Mom if Buzz was causing any trouble. Mom said no, and he said to go to tell him Mike says Hi and to start causing trouble. And that's exactly what my mom did. She walked up to him at his locker and the rest is history. :)
They had dinner with Mike tonight. Their 36th wedding anniversary was yesterday... and the 41st anniversary of their first date is in December.. and they still celebrate it.. by the way.
For those of you who don't know... My grandparents started dating when they were 15 and 16... as did my parents... as did Kevin and I. Must be something in the water. :)
So... happy anniversary Mama and Daddy! You are an inspiration and a testament to what true love can be.
I LOVE YOU FOR TRUE! (one of those weird saying from the 70s that Mom and Dad still write on every card they give one another)
