12 Weeks

Went to Ember's house on Friday the 2nd to celebrate her birthday. Rach made amazing sloppy joes and we had a smorgasbord of dessert options. We are dessert people!

Later that night I surprised Em with a Cookie Monster from Cheddars. Alt had to work that night and I wanted it to feel a little bit like her birthday. :) the only candle I could find to bring over was the one is the picture. So Happy 3rd Birthday Ember Jo! Love you so much!!

Nate has been very smily recently! Yay!!! Mostly it's in the mornings. Mornings are my favorite!

The fertility clinic that helped us conceive Nate sent him silver spoon and a signed card. So sweet of them! Advanced Reproductive Care, we love and appreciate you guys so much!!

My brother has been walking his new path for over 2 years. He graduated from his program 2 years ago and was celebrated at a ceremony this week. We are so proud of you Uncle Jeff! You amaze me!

Julianne and Brooks came over for a short play date on Tuesday. Finally got some pictures of them were they weren't in a swing or carseat! They are so close in length but Brooks is still bigger! :) Wonder if Nate will ever catch him??? I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful friend in Julianne. She is so caring and compassionate. She's so calm and I learn so much from her.

Baby boy fell asleep on my chest like he used to when we would do skin to skin. Miss that! It's true when they say, "it won't be like this for long..."

Had a day of shopping with Glammye. Picked out our family photos!! They are perfect!

After that we went to lunch at Gloria's. Nate slept through the whole thing. We went back to Mom and Dad's to feed Nate and get his stroller. After that we went to Nordstrom's. Baby boy has had his diaper changed at the best stores around! :)

We also found these adorable socks! Nate's been grabbing things and pulling them to his mouth so we got him these stuffed animal paci's. They are wonderful and Nate loves them!!

He's growing so fast! Started making spit bubbles this week!

11 Weeks!

Kevin went back to work this week. I have so much respect for stay-at-home moms and single parents. Kevin is so involved with everything we do day to day with Nate. I did not realize how hard it is to be on your own.

That said it's wonderful and amazing and I am pretending that I don't have to go back to work in a couple of weeks.

On Monday morning Nate gave me the biggest smiles he has ever given. They were so sweet. I was so grateful to have gotten them on camera. Looks like our stingy smiler is coming around. :-)

This week I went up to my old school to finish cleaning out my classroom. My dad helped me move.I am so grateful to him. He amazes me. It's so bittersweet to see this room empty. I am so grateful to have a job in the district that I love with people that I'm excited to work with. But I'm going to miss my School family. I'm going to miss my students. But I plan to make it to some of their sporting events at their high school and hope to see them.

I am completely amazed that I get to go to work and not be coaching and I get to teach speech. I did not think that was going to happen. God was really watching out for me. I'm nervous to be in the classroom and not be a coach. There is a respect level that comes almost automatically with coaching. I have gotten used to that so I'm not sure how it's gonna be in the beginning. I'm sure once I build great relationships with my students, I won't have too many problems.

My new principle is wonderful. My classroom is kind of small so he gave me two classrooms for all of our activities. One classroom will be set up traditionally with desks for public speaking and lectures and the other room will be set up for activities. I will have tables against the wall that we can get out for group work if we want to. I plan to have the room open for all the fun activities that Speech provides.

Once I get the rooms set up I will post pictures.

My old classroom and my dad helping me move my supplies:

On Tuesday Nate had to go back to the pediatrician. He needed one more vaccine that they didn't have when we were there two weeks ago. So I was so sad that he was getting another vaccine but so grateful to get him weighed and measured.

Nate is 12 pounds and 9 ounces. He is 23.75 inches long and his head was 40 cm.

On Wednesday we went for a play date with Riley and Logan up in Denton. I love getting to see my best friend Katie and our boys had the best time together. Riley and Nate were awake at the same time, played at the same time and slept at the same time. It was wonderful.

On Thursday we went and took our photo for the Arlington high school football program. Southern Flair Photography takes our photos every year to show how our family is growing.

This year they took some photos outside and also photos of just Kevin and Nate and just me and Nate.

They turned out so cute and I can't wait to be able to post them.

Also on Thursday, Rachel and Ember came over with their babies for a quick play date. It was so wonderful! I love spending time with them. I'm so grateful that our kids are so close in age.

Reagan is just the sweetest thing. She always has the cutest outfits... I love it. She is such a sweet tempered baby. She fell asleep in Rachel's arms like this:

Nate is growing so fast. He is still sleeping through the night. He goes to sleep anywhere between 9:30 PM and 11 PM and will wake up anywhere between 5 AM and 7 AM.

He is eating 5 ounces of formula and one bottle of breastmilk a day. There have been a few days that he has not had breast milk because I thawed it and it smelled sour. I don't know if I let it go too long before I froze it. Or if I am defrosting it wrong. I need to do some research.

Nate rolled over! He was on his tummy for tummy time and just put his arm underneath him and rolled to his back!! He did that when he was 10 weeks and one day old! He hasn't done it since but he did do it!

We could not love anything more.

10 weeks

Baby boy has so many nicknames!! Nate, Nathan, Natie Man, Mr. Magoo, fart sack Magee, Angel face, Angel bear... And my love.

We have established a bedtime routine. Nate goes down between 10pm and 11pm most nights.
At 9:30 we start winding down with a bottle of 3 to 5 oz depending on the last time he ate. Then we cuddle for a bit, watch about 5 minutes of the baby channel and put on his PJ's and a new diaper while Daddy gets his bed ready. Then he's swaddled and I rock him until he's really asleep. Anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes. I love this time. Soon he won't need to be swaddled to sleep, but I equate his excellent sleeping patterns to being swaddled at night.
With this routine he wakes to eat anywhere between 5:30am to 7am.

The other day he was napping in my arms and fell asleep holing both my hands. <3 <3 <3 Melts my heart!

Aunt Jessi came to visit from Dubai!!! So excited to see her. We have a sushi date on Sunday. She's here until mid-August and I need to soak up every second of this world traveler before she heads off on another adventure!

All dressed up to meet some of Mommy and Daddy's friends! We went to our friends Beth and Taylor's house for dinner last week. Nate was the youngest little one there but only by a few months. Our friends Nick and Barbara were there with their little ones and their youngest is 5 months. She was so smiley!! Can't wait for Nate to be less stingy!!! We had the best time catching up with these beautiful families!

Anybody remember these shoes?? They are still too big, but I thought why not?? We bought them Months ago! :)

Tummy time with his big brother Murphy close by. Murphy has been excellent with Nate! He was a little mopey at first since he wasn't getting as much attention.. But he really seems to be adjusting. And has taken to lying next to Nate to guard him. Too cute!!

Love his little feet

Went over to Aunt Ember and Uncle Alt's house to play with super cousin Luka!! Had the best time. We laughed so much at these little boys! Luka wanted to touch Nate so badly!! Finally he settled for a hand hold before he went for Nate's face. I was no help because I couldn't stop laughing. Ember was right there pulling her son's hands away.

We also tried out Luka's bumbo. Not quite ready for it yet... But he's getting close! He holds his head up well, but doesn't have complete control.

Thanks for a great time, Em!! As always! We realized or maybe it was just brought to my attention that Nate, Reagan and Luka will all be in the same grade for school. I think that's so cool!

On Monday Nate got all dressed up for his 1st trip to Neiman Marcus. Mom and I took him. He did great! We are at the Zodiac Room and he cooed in his car seat and fell asleep while we ate.

Neiman's is a family tradition around here. Gma would take me just liked Mom's Ganny took her.

And our wonderful friend and personal shopper Andreea gave Nate the most wonderful Sterling Silver airplane piggy bank. Already has 17 cents in it. :)

The 22nd would have been Gpa's 85th birthday. Miss them both. So grateful that they are celebrating in heaven together.

Love this little boy

He slept face down on my chest like he used to when he was 1 week old. I loved every second!

On Wednesday night, we went to the Ranger Game. Glammye and GDaddy watched Nate. We had a great time and are so grateful for a night out. We brought home a winner!!!

They have Gma's name on the "Wall of Fame" for season ticket holders. Everything about the ball park makes me think of her. I've been under ground and on the field with her. Miss her.

Our little family:

At 10 weeks:
Nate has a bedtime routine:
Eat (3 to 5 oz) depending on last time he ate
Change diaper and put on pj's
Watch a few minutes of the baby channel
Swaddle
Rock to sleep
:)
Still a restless sleeper. Think we've got a tosser/turner on our hands
Eating mostly formula with 1 bottle of breast milk a day
Loves his play mat
Getting really strong at tummy time by pushing up on his elbows
Still has clogged tear duct on right eye
More smilie but still rare
Loves sleeping in our arms just as much as we love him in our arms
Hmmmmmm... So happy!
